Black Lives Matter

In June of 2020 Anne Arundel County Public Schools and Kindness Grows Here Co-Sponsored a virtual forum to help adults talk to children about issues surrounding race.


The forum featured six parents of elementary school students who shared their experiences and perspectives about talking with their children about these often-difficult issues.

Later in the summer we were thrilled when the Anne Arundel County Public Library asked us to do a “Part 2” of this discussion. Below is that discussion:

There was much to discuss. These conversation by no means covered every topic. And we didn’t have all the answers. But it is in having the conversation that we all learn. We hope these events helped parents feel more comfortable having conversations about race with their children.
