Join the Kindness Grows Here Board of Directors

Kindness Grows Here is seeking board members who are passionate about promoting kindness, strengthening communities, and supporting children and youth as they lead meaningful acts of service.

The Ideal Board Members Will:

  • Have the time, interest, and commitment to work with KGH in the community to promote kindness for all.
  • Help increase the visibility and profile of the organization in the community and beyond.
  • Bring unique expertise in two or more of the following areas: fundraising; marketing and social media; graphic design; nonprofit growth and development; public speaking; project management; training and education; working with children; or building community connections.
  • Have access to new resources, relationships, and networks.
  • Help strengthen the board by bringing diverse perspectives, experiences, and skills.
  • Listen well, think clearly and creatively, analyze information thoughtfully, and work effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Prepare for and attend board meetings, typically held five times per year, as well as committee meetings when needed.
  • Take responsibility for assignments and follow through on commitments.
  • Contribute time, talents, connections, and personal or financial resources as appropriate.
  • Help cultivate and solicit funds.
  • Help identify, recruit, and support board members and other volunteers.

Board Member Time Commitment:

  • Approximately 2 hours every 2–3 months for board meetings.
  • Approximately 1 hour of preparation before each board meeting to review minutes, the agenda, and related materials.
  • Approximately 1–3 hours per week for special projects or assignments.
  • Approximately 2 hours per month for committee meetings, as needed.
